Export Instructions:

  1. Log into https://blackboard.uaa.alaska.edu.
  2. Navigate to a course to export.
  3. On the Control Panel, expand the Packages and Utilities section and click Export/Archive Course.
  4. On the Export/Archive Course page, click Export Package on the action bar.
  5. On the Export Course page, under File Attachments, select the option to copy links and include copies of the files in the course default directory.
  6. Click Calculate Size to ensure that the package size does not exceed the displayed Allowed package size. To remove files and folders from the package, click Manage Package Contents.
  7. In the Select Course Materials section, it is good practice to Select All, so all files, tests and other data is exported into the .zip file.
  8. Click Submit.
  9. Let the report run. An email will be sent to you when the process is complete.
  10. Blackboard will give you a report in the Export/Archive Course list, select the ZIP file to download and save onto your computer. You will need this ZIP file in the import process, so save it where you can find it.
  11. Do not make changes to the ZIP file.

Import Instructions:

  1. Log into the new Blackboard system.
  2. Navigate to a course to import.
  3. On the Control Panel, expand the Packages and Utilities section and select Import Package/View Logs.
  4. Click Import Package.
  5. Provide the path to the course package or click Browse to search for the package.
  6. Select All, to capture all the course materials from the .zip file.
  7. Click Submit.
  8. Let the report run. An email will be sent to you when the process is complete.
  9. Always review and edit the assignment dates, update to your new semester syllabus and clean up the grade center columns as needed.
