Using the universal design concept of creating all of your online course content as accessible documents with your course design or redesign process will allow all of your students full access to your content.
Now how do you let students know that your course is equipt with accessible content? Below are examples of text that you may use in your course “Getting Started” or “Course Navigation” area and/or the course syllabus.
All content in this online course environment has been universally designed. All electronic documents are saved as Adobe PDF format. To view these documents you will need Adobe Reader on your computer. If you do not have the most updated version of Adobe Reader, you can download it for free at http://www.adobe.com. All videos in this course are equipt with closed captioning and/or transcripts available for print. If you are having trouble accessing the content in this course, please contact UAA IT Services for assistance.
